HUNTINGTON, Ind. (FDN) The HU men’s basketball team won 4 out of 8 games against nationally ranked opponents this season.
Although the Foresters were never ranked throughout the regular season, they were still able to win half of their games against ranked teams.
The wins included beating number five Indiana Wesleyan, number nine Grace College, and Saint Francis twice.
Head Coach Kory Alford says this sort of competition is why he loves coaching in the Crossroads League.
“That’s the beauty of playing in the Crossroads League,” Alford said. “You get a bunch of opportunities to get high quality wins.”
These wins helped the Foresters earn their spot in the NAIA National Tournament, where they upset #5 Georgetown in the first round. HU eventually lost to #4 Faulkner in the second round of the national tournament.
