HUNTINGTON, Ind. (FDN) HU’s newest club is putting down their controllers after finishing their first season of competition.

The E-Sports team is a group of competitive gamers that compete against other schools in a variety of different games. Whether it’s Overwatch or Smash Bros, students came together to turn their favorite pastime into a full blown competitive team.

Head Coach Zachariah Lail began talking to faculty last year about making this goal a reality. The team managed to raise enough funds to get started and now, several months later, they’ve finished their season strong.

The games were also broadcasted, just like traditional sports like basketball and soccer are at HU.

Students on the team are excited for the future of gaming here at Huntington.
