HUNTINGTON Ind. (FDN) After facing cancellations from COVID and a massive shift in team staff, the HU Mens Basketball is prepping for a new season.

Last season was underwhelming for the Foresters, but a promising freshman class, intense training, and a familiarity with the new staff makes the team confident in the upcoming year. They’re focusing on speed and team defense, two areas they feel they were lacking in last year.

Coach Kory Alford is aiming for a bid in the national tournament. He’s confident the team has a good dynamic and the work ethic to take them all the way.

“There’s good competition, we have a lot of guys competing for minutes now, and I think it’s gonna show once we actually take the court in November.” Alford said.

The start of the new season is coming soon, and the Foresters are determined to be ready for it.
