HUNTINGTON, Ind (FDN) – D’s Wagon Wheel, owned by Donna Deschaine, is the new espresso bar that opened in Huntington, Indiana at the beginning of the school year.
Native to Alaska, Deschaine wanted a new journey after traveling around the United States. Pure luck ended up bringing her to the area. She put a map on the table, closed her eyes, and pointed at a random spot.
“I landed on Ossian, Indiana,” Said Deschaine.
Deschaine traveled out to Ossian for a week. She drove around the town and eventually traveled to Huntington. She spotted an empty restaurant and decided it would make an excellent location for a coffee shop. Her husband and granddaughter met her in Huntington to see the promising establishment.
“It’s a fascinating journey to be on with my husband of 50 years,” Deschaine recalled. “I like spending retirement around a new environment and new people.”
D’s Wagon Wheel Espresso-Café is located at 874 Cline St in Dover Park Neighborhood. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
