HUNTINGTON, Ind. (FDN) After appearing for little more than a week, the city of Huntington has removed all electric scooters.

After the city council meeting on April 13, the city decided to remove all electric scooters citing safety concerns. Leaders hope to reintroduce them when appropriate safety regulations are in place.

Morrell’s Scooters out of Marion, Indiana owns and operates the scooter rental business. The next city council meeting is scheduled for April 26.

Leaders hope to polish safety regulations and see if the city’s code restricts the usage of electric scooters.
