HUNTINGTON, Ind. (FDN) “Women’s history month is a time to like reflect on where we’ve been how far we’ve come and then move forward to what we want to be in the future,” said Mireille Rhodes.

Women’s history month is a celebratory time that takes place in March of each year.

“And the other thing that I hear is, well, I don’t want to do women’s history month because like what about men,” prefaced Rhodes. “It’s not about women being better than men, it’s about bringing light to women’s issues and things that women care about and not forgetting them, especially when the world is often male dominated.”

However, some students would like the university to add events celebrating women’s history month next year.

“I work in the equipment center and we’re doing a silhouette of a woman’s frame, and you write like different females and how they’ve impacted,” Mireille explained. “Other than that, there’s nothing going on and nobody’s really talking about it, so it’s kinda it’s disappointing.”

Asian Pacific American Heritage month is in May, but MAC will be hosting an event to celebrate in April.
